Today I will be telling you what we actually do and what goes on. We love our job rotations, doing projects, and talking! Lots of talking!

Job rotations start on Monday and go through Thursday. There are 5 different rotations, voice tracking, video production, podcast and vodcast, on-air, and brand management. Voice tracking is when we record segments for the afternoon cruise control, which is 3 PM to 6 PM. It is pretty much going live and having our live voices and real segments, but we can redo it however many times we want. We also can add sound effects to it. They air in between songs about 8 times an hour, lots of people have said they love this job rotation. Video production is a big hit! The team that is in the recording room must film a short episode of whatever you would like, and you have one week to complete it. Everyone loves to make videos and the whole class loves watching what each team did. The next job rotation is podcast and vodcast. Each week the podcast and vodcast team must make two podcasts to post and one vodcast. A vodcast is a video podcast about whatever they want. Most people know what on-air is, but there is more to it than you would think. You have to go live 8 times in two hours. It doesn't seem too hard but really the planning takes lots of time. We have to make sure we have the best and most interesting breaks for our listeners. We also must do a news cast every day at 1:45 for our listeners. Lastly we have the brand management team, which is the Gal Pals! They are in charge of everyone. They also do all of our social media posts and blogs. Each week the brand management team picks an employee of the week, which is one person who has been working really hard and deserves the recognition.

Many of the projects we do are video editing, which everyone in the class loves! In level one we all recreated music videos and it was our favorite project ever. We also do lots of audio production and voice overs, which is talking over a video rather than having someone talking right into the camera. Audio editing is when you are making liners for the station and putting music behind you talking.

We love to talk! Mrs. Bootz has lots of trouble trying to get us to stop talking! She loves to hear our opinion and our great ideas! We get to talk every day when we are live on air or just doing random things and projects. Sometimes when we get to talking it's very hard to get the class to stop! There are good things about us talking non-stop, one of those good things is that we can always find something to talk about while on air. We have to keep a two minute timer in the control room at all times to ensure we don't go over our two minute mark.

We love it here at SICTC and this program here is what makes it so great. From the job rotations, to the projects, and the non stop talking we love it all. We especially love our teacher Mrs. Bootz! She is always ready to hear our crazy ideas and will usually go along with whatever we are projecting to her. Media Communications and Broadcasting is the place to go if you are looking to apply here at SICTC.
