Yes and No. No, I do not like being cold but I do like cold weather because I can wrap up in blankets. Lots and lots of blankets and all the cozy things. I am going to give you my tips on how to make the most of being cozy this winter.

1. Blankets

I love blankets. I have too many blankets. Blankets are a key element to being cozy. Small blankets work but I prefer bigger heavier ones. Unless the small blankets have a really cute cozy design. For example, I have a Christmas blanket that I love and it's a small fleece blanket with red trucks with a Christmas tree in the back. I also have a heavier blanket that my mom made for me a few years ago for Christmas. I also love my weighted blanket I got this year and my electric blanket that I have had for a while. Like I said I have way too many blankets.

2. Clothes

When I say clothes I don’t mean hats and gloves. I mean socks, hoodies, and sweaters. Mainly lounging around the house in cozy clothes. I have tons of festive socks as well as fuzzy socks. I always laugh when I see movies and shows that have people who get disappointed when they get socks for Christmas because I am excited anytime I get socks. Hoodies and sweaters are also critical for coziness. When getting hoodies for coziness I always get a least one size bigger than I normally wear because it's more comfy. I also have a blanket hoodie that is huge and cozy and I love it.

3. Warm Drink

Whether it is hot chocolate, coffee, or something else a warm drink in a mug that you can just wrap your hands around is definitely a good addition to the cozy list. My mom likes coffee, my brother likes hot chocolate. I like both of them with an addition of a hot apple cider. That might be a little bit more fall cozy than winter cozy but it still works. A nice mug for it is always a good addition as well. So the drink doesn't really matter just find a warm drink and you have completed another step to getting cozy.

You are now equipped with the proper tools to be cozy this holiday season so go grab a blanket, some fuzzy socks, and a warm drink and commence the cozy.

One of the things that makes it so unique and sets it apart from the other holidays is the music. Christmas has a whole genre of music for itself, and the songs are so iconic. You hear a few notes and you instantly recognize All I Want for Christmas is You. Whether you are someone who would listen to Christmas music all year round if given the chance or will only listen to it in December, Christmas music helps make the holiday what it is. I am going to share some Christmas songs that I find either extremely funny and ridiculous or just fun.

1. Snow Miser/ Heat Miser

This song is just a fun song. The song rotated through TikTok last holiday season. I have always loved the song and the movie it came from. The movie that this song is called The Year Without a Santa Claus. In the movie, the songs happen at different times but in the versions to will find to actually listen to combine them. I have heard a few different versions of the song but my favorite version is by a group called Ernie Haase & Signature Sound. Watching a live version of them performing it just always makes me laugh.

2. I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause

This song is a song that has been made into a movie. The movie has the kid see his dad dressed as Santa and kissing his mom. Watching the movie you can see different things that make him think that his mom is cheating on his dad with Santa. Throughout the movie the kid tries to misbehave as much as possible, attacks a street Santa, and the mall Santa just to make it so he stays away from his mom. I highly suggest watching it. This song always goes on my Christmas playlist because it's just funny.

3. I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas

This song is just so absurd. My mom has worked in schools since I was in fourth grade. The school was doing a door decorating contest throughout the school so my brother and I got to help her with her door. We made it based on this song. I think my favorite verse is "No crocodiles, or rhinoceroses I only like hippopotamuses" just because of the poor grammar.

Merry Christmas Season from DJ Red!

If there are two things I love in life, those two things would be books and holidays. Now, I am combining my two passions, and here are my top 3-holiday book recommendations for 2023. And yes, every book on this list is titled All I Want for Christmas, but I do genuinely enjoy the different takes of each book...

1. All I Want for Christmas by Wendy Loggia
This book is all about Christmas time magic with a pitch-perfect romance. Now Bailey wished for one thing from Santa this year, and that would be love. If you want a cozy festive book set during the Christmas season and love romance, then you will love this book with a tiny twist. I was both okay with it and a little frustrated with it.

2. All I Want for Christmas by Maggie Knox
Now, this book is a contemporary romance with some Christmas drama. If you love Country music and romance, this book is for you; if you’re not, read it anyway. This includes the best troupe that Booktok loves, and that is fake dating! Now, I do, in fact, like the aspect of reality singing shows,

3. All I Want For Christmas is the Girl Next Door by Chelsea Bobulski
I enjoyed the quickness and ease of this book. As a reader, I listened to this book within 5 hours. If you love young adult romance with an alternative timeline and finding true love, then you’ll love this. Now, the main character, Graham, discovers the true meaning of what love is. This book mixes It’s a Wonderful Life meets Wish Upon a Star.

This was DJ Red’’s guide to Christmas books of 2023.
